Vita Gildae (monk of Rhuys)

Incoming data

The catalogue entry for this text has not been published as yet. Until then, a selection of data is made available below.

First known, Latin Life of Gildas, written in the 11th century by an anonymous monk of Rhuys (Morbihan, Brittany). The biographical details are not trustworthy. It has been suggested that the monastery was previously dedicated to a now obscure Gweltas, whose place was then taken by a saint of wider reputation.
